Motion Design & Kinetic Type
One area of design I’ve always wanted to explore is the world of motion design. Taking a design from a static visual concept and adding movement, whether subtle or substantial, has the potential to add an entirely new dimension to a project. The last few weeks, I’ve been exploring Adobe After Effects, and it feels like a beast of a program. It reminds me of the first time I started using the rest of the Adobe suite. Tons of potential, but a massive spike of frustration.
The most recent project I’ve done in After Effects is a kinetic type homage to the s’mores scene from the movie The Sandlot. Adding motion to a thirty-second chunk of the dialogue was a great learning experience. Check out the V1 clip below.
